Originally from Bellingham, Washington, Samantha grew up in a house where music was more than something you listened to, it was something you lived. Alongside her sisters Olivia and Charlotte, she discovered early that the connection between family and music could create something powerful. The three sisters first performed together as The Wray Sisters, eventually evolving into the high-energy electronic pop trio known today as IONYX.
But Samantha has always followed two musical paths.
On stage with IONYX, she is part of an explosive performance experience, driving rhythms, soaring vocals, and the kind of energy built for large venues. The chemistry between the three sisters is undeniable. With all three accomplished keyboard players, an IONYX show is a constantly moving musical conversation as Olivia, Charlotte, and Samantha trade parts, rotate instruments, and never miss a beat.
Away from the lights and motion of IONYX, Samantha Wray reveals another side.
Her solo work explores a more intimate sound, built around emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling. Her unmistakable voice can move from a soft, dreamlike, almost feather-light quality to a powerful vocal presence capable of filling an arena. It’s that range, not just in notes, but in feeling, that defines Samantha as an artist.
While keyboards are part of the Wray family DNA, Samantha also developed into a gifted guitarist, an instrument she often brings into her solo appearances. The guitar gives her performances a different kind of connection, simpler, closer, and more personal. It’s Samantha without the spectacle, just the song and the story behind it.
Her fans also know her for a style that mixes confidence with compassion. She loves the look of leather or, more accurately, pleather. Samantha’s quick to point out she would never wear real leather, proving that attitude and kindness can absolutely share the same stage.
Two careers. Two sounds. One unmistakable artist.
Whether she’s lighting up a stage with her sisters in IONYX or standing alone with a guitar and a spotlight, Samantha Wray represents the place where technology, imagination, and human emotion meet.
Created through the vision and lyrics of JW Davis, Samantha Wray is part of The Musicode Project — a new kind of musical experience where virtual artistry becomes something more than zeroes and ones. A place where imagination finds a voice, and that voice finds a song.
